Martin joined the financial services industry in 1985 with Commercial Union Life working in various different roles.

​In 1993 he left to join Knavesmire Financial Services as an Independent Financial Adviser working actively with Expatriates based in the Commonwealth Countries.

​5 years later he acquired the business and founded a new firm called Bankfield Financial Services offering all areas of financial advice to new and existing clients. In what has become an extremely fast-changing environment requiring major investment in technology and systems, Martin accepted an offer to merge his company with Alexander Beard Group in April 2003 and now works from our Leeds branch.

​He has held the full Financial Planning Certificate since 1992 and has acquired the Mortgage Advice Qualification Certificate.
